Join us in the garden to learn the art of planting an alpine arrangement in a locally made, hand cast hypertufa planter. Tricia Rubenstein and Sara Anderson of True North Hypertufa will guide the planting from 10-12 on May 31.
Hypertufa are hand-cast, carved, and cured planters designed and made to resemble stone troughs. Originally created for alpine plants, hypertufa troughs are perfect for dwarf conifers, hardy succulents and sempervivums. True North Hypertufa are made in Minnesota by Tricia Rubenstein and Sara Anderson who mix, cast and carve each vessel by hand. While they resemble stone, the hypertufas are durable, lightweight and able to withstand our harsh and variable winter weather.
During the workshop, Tricia and Sara will educate participants about alpine plants and guide the process of planting a hypertufa. Guests will select their own unique hypertufa, three hardy plants, and assemble a planting with Tricia and Sara's expert guidance.
